| Head Football Coach / Athletic Coordinator | E-Mail: jlavender@wfisd.net
| Welcome Coyote fans! It's truly an honor to represent our community and WFHS as the Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach. As an Alumnus('90), I understand the deep history and tradition of our school. I also know that many great coaches have come before me and I am humbled to even attempt to fill their shoes. Like coaches before me, my vision for our kids in Coyote Football is to promote their personal growth and leadership potential. Our players will be prepared for life through the guidance of the "Block W" goal setting program. As coaches, we will take our players to a level beyond themselves by maximizing their academic and athletic talent and character. Our approach is based on the tradition of core values: trust, respect, hard work and enthusiasm. By instilling a strong work ethic, our student-athletes will be prepared for success. We will work to have a winning season, win district and advance to the state playoffs. Our players and coaches will represent our school in a positive way. We will do our best to operate our program professionally and with integrity. One of our core goals is actually the foundation to Coach Golding's success in 1947: Promote the element of Teamwork and Leadership. We develop a family atmosphere between our players and coaches, promote unity, pride, confidence and accountability to the school and team. It's an honor being a Coyote and I look forward to serving this community, school district, and ultimately this school. Red and Black Forever |
